St. Bernard's has an interesting history. Did you know... |
|
 |
- the school has only had three school secretaries over the years?
- in 1973 the school became the first Catholic school in the country to be fully staffed by lay people?
- in 1979, along with Cardinal McKeefry School, St. B's became the first Catholic school to integrate into the state system?
- in 1961 the parish and the school had a change of name: from St. Anthony's to St. Bernard's?
- and that the Parish Priest who enacted that name change was called Bernard!!!
- the current new entrants teacher, Mrs Linda Hughes, has taught at St. Bs since 1990?
